Mexico are set to compete in their first international tournament after a stringent selection process in the last couple of months that involved 40 players across the country. The selection process involved pre-selected and national sports tournament standouts, among them is Ridl Alexis Garay, who emerged as one of the best players in the country. The young player made his debut with the senior men’s national team at the FIVB Volleyball World League this year and will become the first Mexican player to play in three age group World Championships – U19, U21 and U23 – in the same year. Garay also recently participated at the Pan American Games in Toronto.
