Brazil easily dominated Puerto Rico to take the 1st in Pool D

Corrientes, Argentina, 18, August, 2015 – Brazil buried Puerto Rico in the 5th position with a 3-0 victory that gave them the 1st place in Pool D (25-14, 25-14, 25-15). Gabriel Bertolini pushed his team to the triumph with 9 points.

Puerto Rico jumped to the field looking for the victory with a very aggressive attitude, but was quickly controlled by the excellent performance of the Brazilians, who presented an alternative line-up to look after injured Daniel Martins De Pinho and Erick Costa. Pilan Rodrigues (7 points), Bruno Conte (7) and Gabriel Bertolini (9) showed Coach Percy Oncken that they are ready to play in case they are needed.

The Caribbeans took risks to try hurting Brazil, but it didn’t go well for them as the risk brought mistakes and unforced errors that made it even easier for the South Americans. With the Preliminary phase finished, Brazil will face Chile and Puerto Rico will do the same against Chinese Taipei looking for the best position between 17th and 20th.
