DeFalco leads USA’s serving machine to shut down France

Resistencia, Argentina, August 17, 2015 - USA’s spotless record at FIVB Boys’ U19 World Championship grew to 3-0 when the American boys outclassed France 3-1 (26-24, 25-21, 23-25, 25-16), controlling the game with a remarkable use of their serving skills.

USA scored 13 direct serving points, 6 of them from star player Torey DeFalco, who completed 24 points. Setter Micah Ma’a aced four times, while towering Scott Stadick added six blocks, as his job became easier due to the massive service damage. Kyle Ensing was also important with 20 shots.

On France, only captain Joachim Panou reached the bar, with 21 tallies. No other Frenchmen had double numbers in the scoring sheet. The third set was an oasis for them, seizing a bunch of American errors, but USA quickly made the match to regain its course.

Undefeated, USA now bagged 7 points, completely confirmed on Round of 16. France’s scenario is clearly different - they’ve finished pool play with a 1-3 campaign and they must hope that Belgium (0-2) remain on the lowest position.
