Hard-working France defeat Belgium for first victory

After four sets of play, France released the tension and achieved the win

Resistencia, Argentina, August 16, 2015 - Third time was the charm for France at FIVB Boys’ U19 World Championship, as Les Bleus finally left the court smiling after a 3-1 (25-22, 21-25, 25-22, 25-19) win over Belgium, on Pool A action.

The Frenchmen were guided by the power trio of Joachim Panou, Thibaut Thoral and Toky Rojoharivelo, who collected more than half of the points of the entire team. Captain Panou led all the players with 18 tallies, Thoral added 16 and Rojoharivelo scored 15 times.

Despite of having fought for five chapters the night before, Belgium still showed some amazing spirit to maintain the struggle, but their offensive levels were not up to the task. Simon Peeters was the main scorer with 14 points and Gil Hofmans recorded 10 spikes in a little more than just one set.

The result pushed France forward to a 1-2 record with 4 points. Belgium stands at the bottom of the pool with one unit, although they have one less match than France.
