Cantagalli spiking against the Egyptian blockers en-route to another win
Resistencia, Argentina, August 16, 2015 - There’s no stopping Italy so far at FIVB Boys’ U19 World Championship. The European team brought down Egypt 3-1 (25-16, 20-25, 25-12, 25-19) and reached its third consecutive win in Pool B.
Italy not only did better than Egypt in almost every department of the game, but also fed from the African errors to create wide leads. Using all the players from the roster, the Azzurri shared the damage and had in Gabriele Di Martino their top scorer with 11 points.
Egyptian opposite Omar Aly was well controlled by the Italian defensive play, so the role of gunner landed on reserve player Omar Mohamed, who collected 10 points. Ahmed Ibrahim’s four blocks also ignited some hopes on the second set, but that rapidly fade away.
Settled atop of the group, Italy will now rest on Monday, while Egypt will try to get a first win against a demanding side of China.
