Italy savor rematch over China spurred by Cantagalli

Resistencia, Argentina, August 22, 2015 - As part of the plot to decide places from fifth to eighth in Resistencia, Italy moved past China 3-0 (25-16, 25-17, 26-24) and avenged the 3-2 delivered by the Asians during pool play, a few days ago.

Diego Cantagalli placed above all scorers with a 15-point game and a rock-solid 78% on spiking, as the key player on the win. Gianluca Galassi supported his task with 12 points and Paolo Zonca gathered 10.

Only four players completed the game with double digits and the remaining one was in China - tournament’s top scorer Yu Yuantai with 11 shots. China never found their focus on the game and even though coach Gu Jun tried to fix this using the bench, it never worked.

Towards the final competition day, Italy will look forward to a positive 5th place, after being absent of the Boys’ U19 World Champs for two editions, while last silver medalists China are going to play for the 7th spot.
