Poland overun Bulgaria in European clash held in Corrientes

 

Corrientes, Argentina, August, 14, 2015 – European champions Poland defeated Bulgaria in four sets (25-18, 23-25, 25-23, 25-22) with an outstanding performance of the opposite Jakub Ziobrowski, who scored 27 points.

There was no equality in the first set. Poland took the lead with the powerful services of Bartosz Kwolek, MVP in the European Championship, and won the first chapter 25-18. After, Bulgaria improved their game with a fine performance of Ivaylo Ivanov and Stanislav Dramov to take the second 23-25.

However, polish gunner Ziobrowski reappeared in the third and fourth to terminate the Bulgarians, totalizing 21 spikes, 5 blocks and 1 ace to give his team the victory. 

It was an excellent match in Regatas’ Stadium, with over 1.300 spectators who enjoyed the clash between these 2 European giants. Poland will have to keep the level in order to defeat Iran, the Asian chamions, in tomorrow afternoon match. Bulgaria, in the other hand, will face Chile, that started the competition with a tie-break victory over Chinese Taipei.
