Poland stunned Iran with the power of the service

Corrientes, Argentina, August, 15, 2015 – Poland built a great victory against Iran after a negative first set (20-25, 26-24, 25-18, 25-15) based on an outstanding service performance of Tomasz Fornal and Dawid Woch, together with a great team chemistry.

The polish outside-hitter couple featuring Tomasz Fornal (18 points) and Bartosz Kwolek (14) led Poland to a very important win against Iran. The Asian champions took the first set with a very fierce attitude and firm convictions (25-20), but Poland grew stronger with the support of the people in Corrientes and started to tip the scale in their favor.

Kamil Droszynski was vital for the come-back, contributing with important blocks and making every partner play comfortably. Jakub Kochanowski and Jakub Ziobrowski were also important in the side-out phase, allowing Poland to take 2nd and 3rd set (26-24, 25-18).

After that, Iran tried to change the course of the match, but the European champions had turned too strong, leaving the Iranian with no chances of changing the plot of the match. Vakili Farjad essayed a lot of substitutions but his team didn’t answer, making things easier for Poland. An excellent serving streak by Dawid Woch defined the match widely for the Polish 25-18.
