"The Coach put a lot of confidence in me" says Cuban hero Lopez

Corrientes, Argentina, August, 22, 2015 – Miguel Angel Lopez Castro led Cuba to a major comeback with a splendid production that included 35 points among 2 of the match’s last 3 from the serve.

Jesus Cruz Lopez, Cuba Head Coach: “We were near the defeat, but the boys understood that we needed to give everything we had. Our self esteem was low when we started the match, but we could correct that on time and started to play in our real level. We came to Argentina to win the tournament; we couldn’t so our goal is to reach the highest ranking possible”

Miguel Angel Lopez Castro, Cuba: “The team was not stable in the first two sets, but we knew how to change that. I’m happy with the confidence my coach put on me; I’m glad with the performance I had”

Plamen Shekerdzhiev, Bulgaria: We made too many errors and we couldn’t capitalize the easy balls we had. Lopez’s performance was outstanding; there is nothing to say about it. Tomorrow we will look for a victory that let us finish this World Championship happily”
