"There is no easy match in a World Championship" says Polish Coach Pawlik

Corrientes, Argentina, August, 19, 2015 – After a Japanese amazing first set, Poland turned the “blocking and serving” lever on and outscored the Asians amazingly.

Sebastian Pawlik, Poland Head Coach: “We started playing wearily, with overconfidence, thinking that we could win easily, and there is no easy game in a World Championship. Then we played better every set, we blocked a lot, and I’m glad of that as It was the main aspect to improve for this play-offs.”

Dawid Woch, Poland: “We needed to improve our block, and luckily we could do it greatly. I’m happy with my performance but mostly with moving to the Quarterfinals; we were really prepared to win this match, Japan is a great team that put us in lots of troubles with their defense and high speed. If we continue blocking and serving like this, we will be very tough to beat.”

Hiroshi Honda, Japan Head Coach: “When Poland started to serve the match ended. We could do nothing about it. We need to defend a lot in order to do our game, and today that was possible only in the first set”

Kaneko Masaki, Japan: “We made a very good serve, but when Poland started serving hard, we were very complicated. We lost a little concentration, and were very concerned because we couldn’t receive well and have a good playing volume”
