Turkey beat Belgium and grab Round of 16 berth

Resistencia, Argentina, August 18, 2015 - With the odds on their side, Turkey was able to qualify for the next round after a 3-1 (25-22, 21-25, 25-23, 25-18) result over Belgium, who was left out of contest. The outcome also placed fourth ranked France into the Round of 16.

In a really leveled game, Turkey enjoyed minimum margins on spiking (40-37), blocks (11-8) and service points (11-9), even closing the game with two aces in a row - via outside hitter Berkay Bayraktar. The offensive force was headed by Adis Lagumdzija (17 points) and Abdullah Cam (12), after a first set that secured qualification for the Turks.

Belgium mainly used opposite Gil Hofmans to score, with 14 kills of his own, while captain Simon Peeters and promising Lou Kindt added 10 apiece. However, when the team fell to 1-2 in sets, it was all over so the fourth chapter showed a different Belgian version, unusually weak in spirit.
