Zonca makes Italy smile en-route to fifth place over Brazil

Resistencia, Argentina, August 23, 2015 - On the final chapter of their return to Boys’ U19 World Champs after four years, Italy beat Brazil 3-0 (25-20, 25-22, 25-21) and climbed to the fifth place of the final standing after a two-edition absence.

Paolo Zonca carried the Italian flag with 15 points and he was also the author of the final smash, the one that unleashed the joy of all the Azzurrini, lifting coach Mario Barbiero to the air in a lovely picture.

Brazil was the other side of the story, as the South Americans showed signs of weariness and performed a little below their usual. Kaio Ribeiro led the scorers with 12 kills, while Daniel Martins de Pinho and Bruno Conte, both from the bench, added 9 and 8 points respectively.

Italy wrapped up a great comeback to this age-group category, as they played for the last time in 2009 as host team, ending at the 8th place. For Brazil, the final result is not that different than the one two years ago - a fifth place crafted in Mexico 2013.
