Bulgaria took advantage of diminished Mexico with great Ivanov

Corrientes, Argentina, August, 21, 2015 – Bulgaria took advantage of a diminished Mexico to catch a 3-0 victory and take the first step in the 9th-16th classification (25-19, 25-18, 25-23). Stefan Ivanov replaced an ankle-injured Radoslav Parapunov and took the lead of the team with 17 points.

A little more than an hour of game play was enough for Bulgaria to defeat Mexico in straight sets. The Europeans made a very good serving performance, despite the not-so-high ace quantity, and crushed Mexico with no problems. Radoslav Parapunov, with a torn ankle, was replaced by Stefan Ivanov, who showed Coach Dragan Ivanov that he can play in great level.

Mexico missed badly Raydel, his best spiker and scorer, affected to the U23 Team that travelled yesterday to Dubai for the World Championship. Erick Valenciano, who took his place, finished as the American’s best scorer, with 12.

Tomorrow, Bulgaria will face the winner between Cuba and Chile; while Mexico will have to deal with the loser.
