Cuba overpowered Chile despite Diaz's fantastic display

Corrientes, Argentina, August, 21, 2015 – Cuba controlled Chile’s growth in the third set to carry out a flawless victory (25-17, 25-14, 25-23) with an uncontainable Miguel Angel Lopez Castro – best Cuban scorer with 17. Bulgaria will now be the next rival of the Caribbeans, while Chile will have a North-South American clash with Mexico.

Sebastian Diaz’s 21 points weren’t enough for Chile to control the Cuban rage. The young opposite showed a great attitude to raise his partners from the ostracism in the beginning of the 3rd set and present fight against a truly powerful team as Cuba.

Jesus Lopez’s young men overpowered Ivan Villarreal’s with a fantastic performance by Miguel Angel Lopez Castro and good interventions of Eliese Rojas and Imel Pelayo. The differences in attack (42-29), block (8-2) and service (3-0) were crucial for Cuba to keep the pace in the 9th-16th classification round.
