Ivan Villarreal on playing a World Championship: "This experience was priceless"

 

Corrientes, Argentina, August, 23, 2015 – Japan defeated Chile in the fight for the 15th place in the final rankings with a fantastic display of defense and a great performance by Kenyu Nakamoto. Chile lost despite Diaz good match and finally ended 16th.

Ivan Villarreal, Chile Head Coach: “When you approach the epilog of a tournament, and you reach a level as the one we showed today, it’s impossible not to finish with a smile. The experience to play a World Championship is priceless, but it was very hard for us; I’m sure it will be very productive in the future. We have the means to improve and players that can project into the first team of Chile”

Sebastian Diaz, Chile: “We lacked a bit of support among us; we couldn’t have 2 o 3 good individual performances in the same match. Our hope was to finish in a better ranking, but unluckily we couldn’t. Anyway, it was a great experience for all of us; we will keep working hard”

Hiroshi Honda, Japan Head Coach: “Today we could finally show our true face. We wanted to rank better, but we lacked reception and defense to carry out our game style”

Kenyu Nakamoto, Japan: “I’m happy with the way we finished the tournament, but we could have done it better, anyway. I want to keep improving and having other challenges with this team that represents greatly our country”
