“Now we go for more”, warns Iran’s Rasoul Aghchehli

Resistencia, Argentina, August 21, 2015 - It’s been said that anything that doesn’t kill you makes you stronger, and that’s what happened with Iran during the quarterfinals game against Italy. The Asians were nearly out of the gold medal race, but they bounced back and now they’re super boosted with confidence.

Rasoul Aghchehli, Iran captain: "Italy had analysed us very well and we couldn't perform as we can in the first two sets. Due to our mental strength, we could get recovered and won the game. We did it very well on reception and attack and now we go for more."

Gianluca Galassi, Italy captain: "We played really good the first two sets, but then we lost concentration, they started playing better and that's why they won. We have played against them, we knew they were a great team and we studied them a lot. Our service and block worked well, but then they improved and got the victory. It's disappointing because we were so close to be among the best four teams, but now we have to fight for the fifth place."
