Puerto Rico pulled the thorn off dominating Egypt in straight sets

Corrientes, Argentina, August, 21, 2015 – Puerto Rico pulled the thorn off after their victory over Egypt (25-22, 25-21, 25-15) in the second match of the 17th-20th classification Round Robin. Luis Ocasio helped his team’s victory with 16 points, while Omar Mohamed led the Egyptians with 10.

The Puerto Rican offensive trident formed by Ocasio (16) Garcia (11) and Vargas (10) left Egypt with a harsh defeat and an attention call for the last match in this World Championship. The Africans were subdued by the order and discipline of the Caribbeans, which gave away fewer mistakes and could keep their first win in the tournament.

Tomorrow will be both teams’ last chance. Puerto Rico will stay in Corrientes to play against Belgium, while Egypt is returning to Resistencia to face Chinese Taipei.
